Board
The five-member Water Utility Board of Trustees typically meets at 3:00 pm on the second Monday of each month.
The Water Utility Board of Trustees is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipal-owned water delivery system. The board of trustees may exercise all powers of a city in relation to the city utility, city utilities, or combined utility system it administers, with the following exceptions:
- Taxes, Ordinances and Bonds. A board may not certify taxes to be levied, pass ordinances or amendments, or issue general obligation or special assessment bonds.
- Property. Title to all property must be in the city's name, but the board has full control of such property subject to limitations imposed by law.
- Reports to Council. The board shall make a detailed annual report to the council, including a complete financial statement.
- Proceedings Published. Immediately following a regular or special meeting, the board secretary shall prepare and cause a condensed statement of proceedings to be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the city, including a list of all claims.
